Blueberry Banana Bliss Smoothie

A healthy recipe was much needed, and now that it's already February 5th, I only have less than 8 more weeks until spring break. So, here's some healthy motivation for those of you who will also soon be departing for someplace warm! I'm thinking of doing a spring break smoothie series, so stay tuned for some more delicious, wholesome, smoothie recipes!

This one is a velvety smooth, blueberry banana bliss smoothie, and it is for sure the one I make most often. Super simple and healthy. I always use frozen fruit for my smoothies because it tastes a lot better, but I feel like I'm slowly killing my blender. Make sure you have a really strong blender that can rip through frozen fruit. I use the Magic Bullet, but I'm thinking of getting a NurtiBullet or Ninja.

Greek yogurt is what really gives this smoothie it's velvety texture. I used a little less then 1 individual pack of Chobani blueberry Greek yogurt, which are 5.3 oz, if that gives you an idea about how much yogurt you should use. It's probably equivalent to 3 heaping tablespoons.

This recipe makes 2 masons jars. It is perfect for breakfast or an afternoon snack, and whether you're a smoothie lover or not, you have to try this!

BLUEBERRY BANANA BLISS SMOOTHIE
YIELD: 2 servings | TOTAL TIME: 5 minutes

1 banana, chopped and frozen
1 cup blueberries, frozen
½ cup milk
½ cup water
½ cup ice
5 oz. Greek yogurt, vanilla or blueberry

Directions:

Place all the ingredients into a good, powerful blender in the order listed. Pulse on high until very well blended, about 3-5 minutes. Be sure to stir as often as needed. Add more water or ice to your preference of consistency.

Pour the smoothie into 2 glasses, and enjoy.
