We're one week away from the loveliest day of the year. And that means chocolate, chocolate, and, no surprise, more chocolate. I usually just spend the day with my family, the people I love the most.
And nothing says Valentine's Day like chocolate covered strawberries! I make these guys every year for the occasion, as they are delicious and so fun to make. Anyways, I hope your week is full of sweetness and plenty of pink. Just wait until I share with you guys what dessert I'm making!
CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES
YIELD: about 24
strawberries | TOTAL TIME: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups
chocolate chips
1
tablespoon vegetable oil
24
medium strawberries
Directions:
Line a platter with parchment paper and set aside.
Place the chocolate and oil in a double boiler and allow the
chocolate to melt, stirring constantly to prevent burning, about 3-4 minutes.
Pour the melted chocolate into a narrow but deep glass, like
a coffee mug. Using a skewer stick, dip a strawberry into the chocolate, spin,
then allow excess to drip for 10 seconds. Place onto the prepared platter.
Repeat until you run low on chocolate.
Refrigerate strawberries and allow them to harden, about
15-20 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
Optional: Use any remaining chocolate and drizzle
it onto the strawberries.
Refrigerate strawberries
in an airtight container for up to 1 day.
